Portrait with Glove and Jug, 2010

Nick Martin

Three flat areas of colour, which could be used in a portrait, are arranged in portrait format. Images of a glove and a small jug, which could be attributes of a person depicted, are presented adjacent on a white ground. Visual, physical and conceptual qualities of paintings as surface, illusion and object are manipulated to make them more evident.
