“Hazel Drops”, 2023 by Tim Pugh
This decorative intervention was created at Yeathouse in West Cumbria in November 2022 and is comprised of Hazel leaves delicately balanced on a silver birch tree in windless conditions. The leaves were left over from a previous artwork where circles were cut out and used for something else.Rather than waste the leaves, they were gently draped on the tree.Occasional light wisps of breeze blew the odd leaf onto the ground and it was a frustrating time photographing the artwork in the fading light. The irony is that these leftover ‘waste’ leaves produced a better artwork than intended.
