These selected artworks resonate with some of the ideas in Consuming the Body: Capitalism, Social Media and Commodification. They examine the commodification, sexualisation, and fragmentation of bodies, and modes of looking and being seen afforded by social networking sites. In some of the works, bodies are commoditised to the point that the implied body is replaced by a commodity. Other artworks consider what it means to be looked at and how visibleness online changes our view of our selves and each other.
