    Artist Statement

I find i return to cloth as language and continue to be facinated by cloth and communication, the English langugage is full ofexpression and metaphor, which refer to textile elements and processes.

I am citing notions of experience and memory in textiles that literally are the fabric of my own family history.

By using laboour intensive technical processes i create new objects from old materials and see that these maintain their own histories alongside my new presentation.

I am engaged with the exploration of hand making processes and construction methods, specifically linking, knotting and looping techniques such as hand stitching.

My chosen raw materials are low tech domestic materials, rope, wool, string, fabrics and found objects.

Working to always retain the handmade quality and displaying the physicality of the works construction, emphasizing the making process.
